Ship Berthing Services

Ship Berthing Services

Since 1974, our Portland, Oregon fresh water deep draft port terminal has provided one of the best locations for short and long-term berthing of ships, barges and other floating marine equipment.

Our facility features knowledgeable and attentive management and staff. If your needs include special service utilities, large or small repair and maintenance services or stores handling – we are ready to provide you with cost-effective, timely and creative solutions – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Conveniently located near Pacific Northwest port facilities, our location is where export cargo opportunities, marine construction activities and oceanographic prospects are plentiful. Our secure, fresh water sheltered industrial location gives you the added benefit of reduced marine growth and extending your underwater hull-cleaning interval.

For specific long-term operational basing needs, we are able to consider capital improvements or modifications to meet your requirements.

Lay-Up Facilities
Long-Term Lay-UpOur location is ideal for long-term lay-up of your idle ship or marine equipment awaiting employment. Our mild climate and fresh water setting maximizes the life of your valuable hardware. Ready suppliers make maintenance easy to perform at our convenient metropolitan location.
Short-Term Lay-UpWe also provide a perfect location for short-term positioning of your ship or marine equipment between assignments. Our location on the US West Coast makes us handy to key port facilities from Alaska or Canada to Mexico, and from California to Hawaii.
Changing and Awaiting CargoMany clients use our facilities for changing cargo types and awaiting cargo. This saves money over midstream anchoring by eliminating shore launch services. We also provide a convenient location to perform hold cleaning and grain cargo preparation work, including installation of sounding lines and piping changes.
Project BasingOur facility is privately owned—providing greater flexibility to meet your needs cost-effectively. Using your own staff, subcontractors and our own logistics professionals, your project and operations will receive the level of attention that you want—when you want it. Oceanographic research vessels, cableships, dredges, tugs and barges, fishing vessels, and salvage ships of all types have used our facilities for major projects.
Topside and Voyage RepairsThe Portland metropolitan area is well-served with ship repair specialists. Our facilities are available for voyage and dockside repairs with all of them—singly or in the supplier combinations that you need to get the work done. We have the crane capacity, wharf layout and easy access to get your repairs accomplished in the most cost-effective manner.
Operational BasingWe can provide facilities for longer-term local and regional operational basings. These opportunities include dedicated short-sea cargo movement, undersea cable work, maintenance dredging and ongoing oceanographic research. We provide a great fresh water location to establish these longer-term base facilities.
