We purchase processed ferrous and nonferrous metal from metal processors and then sell it to steel mills and other users of recycled metal around the world. In fiscal 2008, we traded 444,000 tons of processed ferrous metal. Our trading business complements our processing business by further meeting the needs of our foreign customers and expands Schnitzer Steel’s share of the global market for recycled ferrous metal.
